About Root & Return Wellness

Integrative Therapy & Soulful Healing

Your therapy experience begins with a conversation. We take time to understand your needs, goals, and preferences so we can connect you with a therapist who feels like the right fit. Our fully virtual practice serves clients throughout Connecticut, offering flexible, thoughtful care from the comfort of your own space. Each session is 50 minutes and moves at a pace that honors your comfort and growth.

Therapy is not about fixing what is broken. It is about reconnecting with your truth, cultivating inner trust, and building a life that feels more aligned and authentic. Whether you are beginning therapy for the first time or returning with new insight, this is a space to come home to yourself.

Therapeutic Techniques

Rooted in Presence,
Guided by Integration

Our therapy is relational, experiential, and integrative. Every therapist on our team blends evidence-based and holistic practices that honor the whole person and draw from frameworks and modalities that support curiosity, accompaniment, and compassion.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a holistic approach to therapy that honors the natural multiplicity within each of us. It is based on the understanding that there are no “bad parts,” only parts that have taken on roles to help us survive and protect what feels vulnerable. Through this work, you learn to access your inner Self, a calm, compassionate, and confident presence that brings harmony and healing to every part of you and your relationships.

Attachment-Based Therapy

This approach deepens understanding of how early experiences shape the way we connect and communicate. It helps you recognize the patterns, thoughts, and feelings learned throughout your life and supports the creation of relationships that feel safer, healthier, and more secure in the present.

Somatic & Mindfulness Practices

Through mindfulness and body-based awareness, you learn to regulate your nervous system and connect with the wisdom of your body. The body becomes an anchor for safety and healing.

Polyvagal-Informed Therapy

This theory, developed by Stephen Porges, helps you understand how your nervous system responds to stress, supporting emotional regulation and a greater sense of calm and resilience.

Person-Centered Therapy

This approach creates a space of empathy and acceptance where you are fully seen and supported as the expert of your own experience.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT is a mind-body approach that combines gentle tapping with focused awareness to support emotional regulation and nervous system relief. It can help reduce the intensity of distressing emotions, release stored stress, and create a greater sense of safety and ease in the body.

Who We Work With

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your rates for therapy?

Q

Session rates vary by therapist and service type. Most 50-60 minute sessions range from $150–$200, though rates may differ depending on the clinician and whether you are paying out of pocket or using insurance.(We’ve found that clients using insurance can pay from $0–$150 depending on their plan.) Longer or specialized sessions may vary slightly.

How do I know which therapist is right for me?

Q

Once you complete our intake form, we review your needs and preferences to ensure you are matched with the therapist who feels like the best fit for your process. You can also visit our Team page to learn more about each clinician or make a specific request.

How often will I come to therapy?

Q

Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency can shift over time. You and your therapist will decide together what rhythm best supports your growth and capacity.

Do you accept insurance?

Q

Yes. Root & Return Wellness accepts insurance, though coverage will depend on each clinician’s credentialing and the insurance plans they are paneled with. For clients whose clinician is out of network with their plan, we can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement by your insurance company. We recommend checking your mental health benefits before beginning therapy to understand your specific coverage and out-of-network options. Insurance accepted by the therapist may vary, but typically we accept Medicaid/Husky, Aetna, Anthem BCBS, Cigna, UnitedHealthCare, and Connecticare.

What kinds of clients do you work with?

Q

We work with individuals, couples, and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, life transitions, challenges related to identity, low self-esteem, adoption-related experiences, and general inner exploration. Our work honors both the psychological and deeper inner dimensions of healing, and we welcome people of all intersectional identities and lived experiences.
